Compensation: $190,000 – $230,000 Base + Bonus + Equity

The Opportunity

Viridis Talent is supporting a rapidly growing US energy infrastructure developer seeking a Director of Project Development to lead the development of utility-scale BESS and power infrastructure projects across the US.

With increasing power demand from AI and data centers accelerating investment into storage and grid infrastructure, the business is expanding its development portfolio and strengthening its senior leadership team.

This is a high-impact position with responsibility for taking projects from early-stage origination through development, investment approval and construction readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of utility-scale BESS and power infrastructure projects
  • Manage site acquisition, permitting, interconnection and development strategy
  • Oversee project economics, schedules, budgets and key development milestones
  • Work with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, landowners and local authorities
  • Support project financing, investment decisions and commercial strategy
  • Coordinate engineering, EPC and technology partners
  • Recruit and develop a high-performing project development team
  • Support new opportunities associated with AI/data-center power demand

Your Background

We're interested in speaking with senior professionals from BESS developers, IPPs, renewable-energy developers and power-infrastructure businesses.

Ideally you will have:

  • 10+ years in US energy/infrastructure development
  • Strong utility-scale BESS, solar or power infrastructure experience
  • Experience taking projects from greenfield development toward NTP/COD
  • Strong knowledge of interconnection, permitting and commercial development
  • Leadership experience across multidisciplinary project teams
  • ERCOT experience is highly desirable
